We will endeavor to post all updated information for clubs in this section.

As a result of the new health order that comes into effect, Tuesday, December 21, 2021 and will extend to at least January 11, 2022, The following CurlManitoba Competitions will be postponed.

2022 – ASHAM U18 Provincials
2022 – Canada Inns Youth Winter Bonspiel
2022 – Manitoba Open and HalfSPIEL

Despite the many potential changes brought on by this new health order, CurlManitoba is hopeful that it will be possible to hold the affected events in a timely manner, and will issue updates on the situation as soon as a course of action become clear.

Please note:  The current Health order does not allow Tournaments (Bonspiels, Provincial Championships, Regionals etc), league play can continue.

Public Health Order Protocols

Some Sport Partners have asked about Public Health order protocols in relation to contact tracing, high-risk settings, and self-isolation and we felt the information would be beneficial to share with all of you.

First, some definitions:

The period of communicability is when you are most likely to spread COVID-19 to others. For those who are symptomatic, the period of communicability is from two days prior to the onset of symptoms through to 10 days from the start of your symptoms. For those who test positive and have no symptoms (asymptomatic), the period of communicability extends from two days before your lab test to 10 days after you had the test.

Close contacts are people who you have shared space with during your period of communicability. Specifically, these are people you were within two metres/six feet for a total of 10 minutes over a 24-hour period.

In most situations, public health officials will no longer be notifying close contacts. Confirmed COVID-19 cases will be asked to notify their own contacts.

Here is a flow chart on what to do in each scenario in regards to isolation –

Personal Protective Equipment:

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, CurlManitoba has contacted a PPE Product Medical Company to help out with any products that your Club may require for the start-up of the curling season. The Company is Diamond Athletics Medical Supply Company and they have offered our Member Clubs a 15% discount on products related to Covid-19 such as Hand Sanitizer and Dispensers, Sanitation products, masks and more. These products are great for your curling club, ice maker and Club Manager to utilize on the rocks, curling equipment and facility in general. They will need all the billing information that is included on the form attached so they know how to set up the customer accounts and the contact information for order questions and payment. They DO NOT require a credit card up front, but they will need this information so they can set up your discount on their customer profiles. The credit and banking information on the forms are not necessary. Clubs can contact Diamond Athletics directly to get account set up toll free in Canada at 1-800-781-9127 or 204-488-7820 in Winnipeg.
