First Playoff Round Games Set
The Friday evening draw, the first round of the 2018 Viterra Championship playoffs, is set following the “B” Side qualifying games on the late afternoon draw in Winkler.
JT Ryan (Assiniboine) defeated Dennis Bohn 9-3 in 5 ends
Steve Irwin (Brandon) upended 5th seed William Lyburn (Assiniboine) 8-5
David Bohn (Assiniboine) defeated Terry McNamee (Brandon) 8-3
Daniel Birchard (Pembina) defeated Graham Freeman (Virden) 7-3
On the evening draw, the match-ups are defending champion Mike McEwen (Fort Rouge) against Steve Irwin (Brandon); #2 seed Reid Carruthers (West St. Paul) playing Daniel Birchard (Pembina); 4th seed Pat Simmons (Granite) vs JT Ryan (Assiniboine); and Travis Bale (Fort Rouge) playing David Bohn (Assiniboine).
The playoff draw is set for 7:45pm at Winkler Centennial Arena. The Playoff Round continues on Saturday, February 3 with draws at 9:00am and 2:00pm. The final four Championship Round will have its first games played Saturday evening at 6:00pm.,
