CurlManitoba NextGen Elite Training Program 2026-2027

Information and Application Process

 

Deadline:  July 30th, 2026. Registration may be limited, so please provide an intent to register or simply provide the documents below as requested. Submit to the CurlManitoba High Performance Director at [email protected]

Program Cost: $1500 plus GST

Vision: CurlManitoba’s NextGen Elite Training Program intends to support and provide resources to up and coming teams aged 18-27, to train and develop their individual and team skills and guide them on their pathway to the podium.

Mission: CurlManitoba will provide access to high-performance resources to help increase the level of performance of athletes and coaches through training and mentoring opportunities, and high-performance services and consultations, to ensure that our athletes that are not already captured by National programming are offered elite resources.

Schedule

The High-Performance Director will meet with each team that registers to go through a potential schedule related to the sport science services and assist in organization of sport science sessions and other resources and supports.

Program Benefits

  • Access to sport science services such as nutrition, mental performance and strength and conditioning on site at the Heather CC.
  • Cost includes access to the Regional Training Centre Dedicated ice at the Heather CC.
  • Cost includes access to CurlManitoba High Performance Director and other top level CurlManitoba coaches and consultants.
  • Free use of CurlManitoba video analysis equipment (Switcher System), SmartBroom Technology, Rock Hawk Speed Traps, lasers, tripods, iPads, cones, etc.
  • Access to the Curling Canada’s NextGen Virtual Education sessions.
  • Professional Development for coaches via mentorship and other opportunities.

NextGen Elite Training Package 2026-2027 Application Details

Application Requirements

  • The team is actively competing in events on the Manitoba Junior Curling Tour (MJCT), Manitoba Curling Tour (MCT), Canadian Team Ranking System (CTRS) or World Curling Team Ranking System (WCTRS) events.
  • Minimum of 6 events + one provincial championship – juniors, men’s, women’s, mixed doubles.
  • Minimum one team practice per week plus minimum of two individual/pairs practices per week.

The following documents are required for the application:

  1. A short cover page which includes team line-up and coach name including coach and team contact information including email addresses.
  2. Provide a season competition schedule.
  3. Provide an on and off-ice training/practice plan including individual and team practices and sport science plan.
