CurlManitoba is pleased to announce that the Co-ops of Manitoba will be partnering with CurlManitoba as title sponsor of the Manitoba Junior Men’s and Women’s Championships beginning with the 2025 event.
The initial commitment of a three-year sponsorship will run through the 2026-2027 curling season.
“We are delighted to welcome the Co-ops of Manitoba and their support of youth curling in Manitoba. The support of a sponsor which is a visible part of the community province-wide will be very supportive of our efforts to encourage youth curling right across the province,” says CurlManitoba Executive Director Craig Baker.
“A sponsor focused on co-operation underlines the greatest lesson that our young curlers learn from competition; the need for co-operation to establish and achieve goals in the team setting,” Baker says.
‘The Manitoba curling community has long demonstrated its loyalty to the sport’s supporting partners. We know that already exists, and will no doubt expand, in support for the Co-ops of Manitoba which are so loyal to, and supportive of, their communities across the province.”
“On behalf of Co-ops of Manitoba, I am pleased to announce our sponsorship of the CurlManitoba Junior Championships, reaffirming our commitment to supporting youth development and community engagement through the sport of curling. Sponsorships and donations to local charitable groups and the sports and recreation community are an integral part of the co-operative business model. We’re very excited about this partnership,” says Shannon Vaughan, Co-Chair of the Co-ops of Manitoba and Marketing and Communications Manager for Homestead Co-op in Southern Manitoba.
Co-ops of Manitoba, representing Co-ops across rural Manitoba, overlap the communities where most of CurlManitoba’s member clubs and curling facilities are located. They provide a wide range of services for commercial, farm and consumer members. Their services and product lines provided to meet the needs of the members range from gas stations and grocery stores to commercial fuel & lubricants, ag equipment, feed, crop supplies, hardware, building supplies and more. With a long-standing tradition of community-focused service, Co-ops of Manitoba plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by delivering essential services and fostering collaboration and mutual support among members.
The Co-ops of Manitoba partnership will support CurlManitoba’s youth and junior curling development mandates which include support for clubs in growing participation at the youth level as well as providing opportunities for young curlers to excel by improving their skills and by testing them in competition.
