Top Two Seeds Advance to Page Playoff
Proving that the pre-event seeding by the teams was accurate, the top seeded Reid Carruthers/Mike McEwen foursome (West St. Paul) and second seed Jason Gunnlaugson (Morris) will meet in the first round of the Viterra Championship Page Playoff Saturday in Virden.
Carruthers/McEwen blanked Corey Chambers (Lorette) 7-0 while Gunnlaugson beat Braden Calvert (Assiniboine Memorial) 8-5 on the Saturday morning draw.
On the 2pm draw, Calvert will play Tanner Lott (Winnipeg Beach) who was a 10-2 Saturday morning over Steen Sigurdson (Gimli). Chambers will play William Lyburn (Granite) after Lyburn posted an 8-6 win over David Bohn. The winners advance to the bottom side of the evening Page Playoff draw while the losers will be eliminated, joining Sigurdson and Bohn on the sidelines.
