The Junior Development Curling Program is an individual program for young curlers between the ages 10 and 18 years of age who are interested in developing their curling skills through a structured instructional program. Emphasis is on skills development and of course having fun too!!

The program is in-season consisting of on-ice training sessions starting mid-October to March. Each training session is 90-minutes and is offered in both the Winnipeg and Brandon areas. The Winnipeg Program is on Wednesdays from 5:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at the Heather Curling Club.

The program primarily focuses on improving delivery and brushing technique through on-ice demonstrations and repetition of specific drills/exercises that enhance balance, timing and line of delivery, including the appropriate use of the broom or sliding device during the delivery. Curlers will also receive video analysis sessions of their delivery and brushing technique.

Curlers will be placed into small groups of appropriate age and skill level. Training materials and resources in the area of delivery and brushing technique will be provided. Athletes will receive instruction from qualified instructors with a 6:1 curler to instructor ratio.

The cost of the program is $378.00 (incl. GST). In order to provide the appropriate level of instruction, there will be a limited number of curlers accepted. Register early, as space is limited!!
