Top Three Undefeated at Gimli Scottties: The top three seeds are the only unbeaten teams after three rounds of play at the Manitoba Scotties Tournament of Hearts presented by Bayer in Gimli.
Top seed and local favorite Kerri Einarson (Gimli) is the lone unbeaten team in the Asham Group following a 9-3 morning victory over Lisa Hale (Dauphin). In the same group, previously unbeaten #4 Allison Flaxey (Granite) lost 9-6 on an extra end to Abby Ackland (Assiniboine Memorial) giving both 2-1 records.
Also at 2-1 is #5 Beth Peterson (Assiniboine Memorial) who lost 6-5 to Joelle Brown (Charleswood). It was Brown’s first win and her 1-2 record matches Hale and Barb Spencer (Assiniboine Memorial), whose first victory came on the morning draw 8-6 over winless Rebecca Lamb (Stonewall).
In the Asham Express Group, #2 Tracy Fleury (East St. Paul) kept pace with Einarson by defeating Terry Ursel (Arden/Lansdowne) 13-4 on the noon draw.
#3 Darcy Robertson (Assiniboine Memorial) also stayed undefeated on the noon draw, stealing singles on the ninth and tenth ends for a 9-8 win over Alyssa Calvert (Brandon).
Jennifer Clark-Rouire (Miami) improved to 2-1 with an 8-1 victory over winless Tiffany McLean (Brandon).
Ursel and Calvert have 1-2 records, tied with Laura Burtnyk (Assiniboine Memorial) and Kristy Watling (Fort Rouge) following a 9-3 Burtnyk noon draw win over Watling.
