Ackland Victory Forces Tiebreaker Game
An afternoon victory by Abby Ackland (Assiniboine Memorial), 8-1 over Rebecca Lamb (Stonewall), has forced a 4pm tiebreaker game at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts presented by Bayer in Gimli.
Team Ackland will play #5 Beth Peterson (Assiniboine Memorial), who lost their final round robin match 7-3 to #1 Kerri Einarson (Gimli).
The win gave Team Einarson first place in the Asham Group and a playoff spot with a record of 6-1. Peterson and Ackland share 5-2 records.
#4 Allison Flaxey (Granite) finished the round robin at 4-3 with a 10-6 win over Barb Spencer (Assiniboine Memorial). Joelle Brown (Charleswood) also finished 3-4 with a 7-3 win over Lisa Hale (Dauphin).
The winner of the Ackland-Peterson tiebreaker will advance to the 7:45pm page playoff game against Team Einarson. The page 1-2 game, also at 7:45pm Saturday, will feature Darcy Robertson (Assiniboine Memorial) against Tracy Fleury (East St. Paul).
