A last shot hit for two, and a 5-4 victory have given Joelle Brown and her Charleswood team a 3-1 record after the Thursday 4pm draw in the Manitoba Scotties Tournament of Hearts presented by Monsanto.
Brown trailed #5 seed Brianne Meilleur (Fort Rouge) 4-3 coming home. The hit removed a Meilleur rock in the four foot circle and rolled away but Brown had second and third shot rocks to score a pair and the victory.
Jennifer Jones (St Vital) with an 8-4 win over Alyssa Calvert (Carberry) and Shannon Birchard (Thistle) who beat Jennifer Briscoe (Burntwood) 8-1 also have 3-1 records and share first place in the group.
In the fourth game on the late afternoon draw, Kristy Watling (Fort Rouge) was an 11-3 victor over Lisa Hale-Menard (Dauphin).
Meilleur and Watling have 2-2 records after four games while Hale-Menard, Calvert and Briscoe are all at 3-1.
