Junior Champ Ryan Among “B” Side Winners Thursday
Manitoba Junior Champion JT Ryan and his Assiniboine Memorial team needed an extra end Thursday evening but posted their second win of the day 8-6 over Richard Muntain (Pinawa). Like eight other “B” Side teams, the junior champs will have to win a pair of games again on Friday to reach the playoff round.
Other teams who advanced on the Thursday evening draw include Kyle Foster (Arborg) with a 7-1 win over Tanner Lott (Winnipeg Beach); Julien Leduc (Granite) with a 9-7 victory over Rob Fisher (Dauphin); Terry McNamee (Brandon) who beat Cale Dunbar (Riverview) 9-2; and Darryl Friesen (St. Vital) who scored three’s on the 8th and 10th ends for a 10-6 win over Kelly Marnoch (Carberry).
Friday morning on the 8:30AM draw, the first four teams will qualify for the playoff round. In those games, Mike McEwen (Fort Rouge) will play Dennis Bohn (Assiniboine Memorial), Reid Carruthers (West St. Paul) will play David Bohn (Assiniboine Memorial), Travis Bale (Fort Rouge) will play Daniel Birchard (Pembina) and Pat Simmons (Granite) will play William Lyburn (Assiniboine Memorial).
