Jennifer Jones and her St Vital team will play Darcy Robertson (Assiniboine Memorial) in the provincial final game at the Manitoba Scotties Tournament of Hearts presented by Monsanto this afternoon at 2:30pm in Killarney
After going undefeated through the round robin, Kerri Einarson (East St. Paul) lost 9-5 to Jones Saturday evening in the Page Playoff 1-1 game and then lost again Sunday morning in the semi-final to Robertson.
In the morning game, Robertson led 5-1 at the mid-game break but Einarson fought back to lead 6-5 after seven ends.
Tied coming home without last rock, Einarson had the guard she needed. Her last shot tapback over-curled and rolled past the available cover to leave Robertson an open hit for a 9-7 victory.
With victory, Jennifer Jones will have her eighth Manitoba Scotties title. For second Jill Officer, her long time teammate, it will be a seventh title. Dawn McEwen and Kaitlyn Lawes will be playing for their fourth Manitoba Scotties win.
For the Robertson foursome, a victory will also represent Robertson’s fourth title while Karen Klein, Vanessa Foster, and Theresa Cannon have yet to experience a national Scotties.
